How to use Pixel Art Studio

Draw pixel art on a customizable canvas with layers and drawing tools, or upload a photo and convert it to chunky retro pixel art. Connect Google Drive to auto-sync drafts across devices.

Step-by-step

  1. Choose Create mode to draw from scratch, or Convert mode to pixelate a photo.
  2. Optional: click Connect Google Drive to sync drafts (local storage remains as offline fallback).
  3. In Create mode, pick canvas size, tools, and colors; use layers, undo, Download PNG, or Save PNG to Drive.

Common questions

Can I create and convert pixel art for free?
Yes. No VSWT account is required.
Where are my drafts stored?
By default in your browser. When Google Drive is connected, drafts sync to your Google app data folder; PNG exports can be saved to visible Drive files.
Can I edit a converted photo as pixel art?
Yes. Use "Edit in Create mode" after converting to refine pixels with the full editor.
