How to use Docs Editor

Write and format documents with a familiar toolbar — bold, headings, lists, links, and undo/redo. Connect Google Drive to auto-sync your draft across devices.

Step-by-step

  1. Enter a title and start typing in the editor.
  2. Use the toolbar for formatting, or undo/redo as needed.
  3. Optional: Connect Google Drive to sync drafts; download HTML/TXT or Save HTML to Drive.

Common questions

Is Docs Editor free?
Yes. No VSWT account is required.
Where is my document stored?
By default in your browser. When Google Drive is connected, drafts sync to your Google app data folder; you can also save a visible HTML file to Drive.
Can I export my document?
Yes. Download as HTML or plain text anytime; Save HTML to Drive when signed in.
